
Seales then pressed Rocky on why, if there’s to be no more brand talk, he has a song about Cristal Champagne on his new record. Rocky reminded her that Cristal became a running joke in the rap world after the brand’s managing director Frédéric Rouzaud made racist comments to The Economist about the hip-hop world’s embrace of his product back in 2006.

“It’s called ‘Crissy,’ and it’s basically mockery towards it,” he explained. “It’s to get ‘em upset. We don’t even f—in’ care about champagne. We drink 40s. That’s all it is. It’s in reference to that.”
Maybe the new rule isn’t super strict. For A$AP’s first single from the record, the Hit Boy-produced “Goldie,” A$AP recently dropped a video trailer where he’s hanging out in front of the Eiffel Tower dressed in lavish Alexander Wang-designed attire.
We guess that’s showing, not dropping, though.
